Cocktails
Adapted from Ezra Star’s recipe for Drink

If anyone knows what to make for St. Patrick's Day, it's the folks at Drink - a craft cocktail bar in the Fort Point neighborhood of Boston. In their words, they are "a bar that throws a cocktail party every night" - and we can get behind that.
When creating this cocktail, mixologist Ezra Star tells Esquire.com, "I built the flavors of the cocktail around the Irish whiskey: honey for the bright grain flavors in the whiskey; dry vermouth to stretch out the whiskey and give it more life; lemon to accent the bright high flavors in the whiskey."
We've adapted his recipe slightly to simplify it - we found that Bittermilk's Smoked Honey Whiskey Sour was the perfect way to combine the honey flavors and the lemon in this cocktail, without the extra work of squeezing fresh citrus. Hey, any barrier to a good cocktail that can be eliminated should be, don't you agree?
In the 5th century, St. Patrick wrote a Declaration to confirm his dedication to God and a high moral standard. We think a cocktail such as this one is in perfect keeping with that Declaration, indeed.
1.5 oz Irish whiskey (Redbreast recommended)
0.75 oz dry vermouth (Noilly Pratt recommended)
0.5 oz Bittermilk No. 3 Smoked Honey Whiskey Sour
1 dash Aromatic Bitters
2 dashes Orange Bitters
Orange twist to garnish
Chill a cocktail glass by filling with ice cubes before you begin making your drink.
