Elderberry Quarantini Recipe

Elderberry+Cocktail+in+Kitchen

We don’t know about you, but the last few weeks seem like a blur. Maybe you’re tired of hearing about social distancing and COVID-19 everywhere you turn. There are mandates and reports from officials on the news, emails flooding the inbox from brands, predictions on the internet and people trying to lighten the mood whenever appropriate. It’s a lot of information to try to process and difficult to know how to respond.

We’ve barely had time to think through what to say, so there’s a good chance our perspective will change in a few weeks. We’ll get more inventive with our solutions, find surprising new ways to spend our time, probably pick up a few bad habits and kick some old ones too. But the one constant that this pandemic seems to remind us of is that we need each other. That won’t change.

Not only do we need each other in a universal, big, systemic way to keep markets and industry thriving, we need each other in a deeply personal, flesh and bone way. Never before in history, have we been this connected. And yet, we’re reminded during this time of imposed social distancing that there isn’t a true substitute for being in the same room with someone. Holding someone’s hand in reassurance, rubbing someone’s back when they’re sick or in pain, laughing together or crying together, sharing a meal (where you’re all tasting the same dishes and flavors)... our humanity relies deeply on connecting with each other in tangible ways.

If you have this same sense, then we encourage you to reach out and hug the ones you can and send a card or care package to the ones you can’t. Let’s be both careful and kind. Because we need each other.
